Abstract

Vocational school program with Islamic Boarding School-base is an effort to create multi¬skill and national-characteristic young generations which consist of intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and kinesthetic/vocational intelligence. It can be done by combining Vocational School education and Islamic Boarding school system with a purpose to produce competent graduate students not only in science and technology but also faithful, piety, and having good character.
The condition of students’ character in SMK Syafi’i Akrom: religious, independent, discipline, respectful, and peaceful. SMK Syafi’i Akrom has some strategy in creating those students’ character: 1. Creating the school policy, 2. Building the commitment of the principal and school citizens, 3 applying the effective strategy to create the students’ character.
