Abstract
Abstarct: Senior High School (SMA) students are teenagers who have unstable emotion. In this transition age, they tend to think shortly and want to solve various problems of life quickly. It shows that there is still a lack of control and low emotional intelligence of teenagers. The research problem is how to implement effective Islamic-based guidance group model to improve students’ emotional intelligence. The purpose of this study is to produce an effective Islamic-based guidance group model to improve students’ emotional intelligence. This study uses a model of educational research and development. Sum of sample is 10 students, taked with purposive sampling technique. The result of this reseaarh is Islamic-based guidance group model . Islamic-based guidance group model in improving students’ emotional intelligence is a process of providing assistance by counselor to individuals through group based on the values of Islam in the Qur’an and Hadits. It can make the members to learn to participate actively by mind and experience of group. The results showed that Islamic-based guidance group model is effective in improving students’ emotional intelligence.. The increasing occurred in all aspects of emotional intelligence. The results from test statistic wilcoxon that skor probability under 0.05 (0,0025<0,05), so Islamic-based guidance group model is effective in improving students’ emotional intelligence.
